Read the terms that apply when you use Moni Earn
These Moni Earn Terms (the “Earn Terms”) are an agreement between you and Paymentstack Inc. (“Moni”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use Moni Earn (“Earn”), a feature of the Moni app. They add to the Terms of Service, which keep applying to everything you do with Moni. If these Earn Terms and the Terms of Service say different things about Earn, these Earn Terms win.
The Earn Risk Disclosure is part of these Earn Terms. Read it before you add money to Earn.
Version 1, October 2026. You accept these Earn Terms in the app before your first deposit.
Earn lets you lend the digital dollars (USDC) in your Moni wallet through Morpho, a lending protocol on the Base blockchain, and earn interest on them. The loans are made inside a vault managed by Gauntlet, an independent company that decides which lending markets the vault uses. Borrowers in those markets pay interest. That interest is the yield you earn.
Moni provides the software. Moni does not pay the yield, does not borrow your dollars, and does not hold them. Moni is not a bank. Earn is not a bank deposit, not a savings product, and not insured by any government or deposit guarantee scheme.
When you add money to Earn, your wallet sends USDC to a contract that Moni deployed on Base (the “Earn contract”). The Earn contract lends those dollars into the Gauntlet vault and gives your wallet a token that represents your share of everything the Earn contract has lent. Your Earn balance is the current value of that token. Interest accrues into that value continuously; there is no separate interest payment.
The token stays in your wallet. You authorize every deposit and every withdrawal yourself. Moni never takes possession of your dollars or your token.
To add money to Earn you must:
We check these requirements every time you add money. If you stop meeting any of them, you can still withdraw at any time, but you cannot add money until you meet them again.
Moni decides where Earn is offered and may change that by country. Moni may also pause new deposits at any time, for example during maintenance or a safety event. Moni never pauses withdrawals.
Adding. You add money from your Moni wallet balance. The app shows the minimum you can add and the maximum Earn balance you can hold. Moni may change these limits.
Withdrawing. You can withdraw any amount up to your Earn balance, at any time. There is no notice period and no lock-up. A withdrawal usually completes within a minute.
Withdrawals depend on the lending protocol having dollars available at that moment. If the protocol cannot return the amount you asked for right then, the withdrawal fails, your money stays in Earn and keeps earning, and you can try a smaller amount or try again later. Moni cannot make the protocol return funds faster. The Earn Risk Disclosure explains this liquidity risk.
All or nothing. A deposit or a withdrawal either completes or leaves your money exactly where it was. There is no in-between state.
No fees to move money. Moni charges nothing to add or withdraw, and pays the network costs.
Separate balance. Money in Earn is not in your wallet or on your card. You cannot send it, spend it or withdraw it to a bank until you take it out of Earn.
Moni’s compensation for Earn is a share of the interest your money earns. Today that share is 20%. The rate the app shows you is already net of Moni’s share.
The Earn contract collects Moni’s share automatically as interest accrues. The share only ever comes out of interest. It is never taken from the money you put in, and if there is no interest there is no fee.
Changing the share. Moni may change its share of interest. We will tell you in the app and by notification at least 14 days before a change takes effect. The Earn contract itself enforces a 14-day delay on any change to the share, so a change cannot take effect sooner.
A fee on balances. Today Moni charges nothing on your Earn balance. Moni may introduce a fee on Earn balances in the future. The Earn contract limits any such fee to 5% a year of the balance, and it enforces the same 14-day delay. We will tell you at least 14 days before a balance fee takes effect. If you do not want to pay it, withdraw before that date.
The Earn contract has no switch that lets Moni:
Moni has permanently given up the ability to add one. These limits are enforced by the contract, and Moni cannot undo them.
Moni keeps the ability to:
The Earn contract also has functions that the Moni app does not use. If you interact with the Earn contract directly, outside the app, you do so at your own risk. The Earn Risk Disclosure describes a penalty that applies to one of those functions.
You can lose money in Earn. The interest rate changes every day and can be zero. Your balance can fall below what you put in, for the reasons described in the Earn Risk Disclosure.
All losses are yours. Moni does not guarantee any rate, any balance or the return of your money. If Moni learns of an event that has reduced the vault’s value, we will notify you and show your real balance in the app. Moni has no obligation to make up a loss.
Moni does not advise you on whether Earn suits you. Nothing in the app or in these Earn Terms is investment, legal or tax advice.
You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn in Earn. Moni does not provide tax forms, tax statements or tax advice. The app shows your Earn balance and activity so you can keep your own records.
Moni may update these Earn Terms. Each version is numbered and dated at the top. When a new version is published, you must accept it before you add money again. Withdrawals never require accepting a new version.
You must withdraw your full Earn balance before you can close your Moni account.
Earn relies on third parties that Moni does not control:
Their decisions, fees and failures can affect Earn. Moni is not responsible for what they do or fail to do.
The “Governing Law and Dispute Resolution” section of the Terms of Service applies to these Earn Terms. In short: Delaware law governs, and any dispute is resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Delaware, with the opt-out right and class action waiver described there.
These Earn Terms are published in English and Spanish. The two versions say the same thing, and both are equally binding.
